How we use your data
Your face is used only to find your photos, only where you ask, and you can delete it any time.
Your selfie
It becomes a list of numbers (a face vector) used to search one event. The image is never stored. The vector is deleted after 30 minutes unless you save your face.
If you save your face
We keep the vector only on an account whose email or phone you confirmed with a one-time code, so it is always yours and you can always reach it to delete it. New photos of you from hosts you follow then reach you. Delete it any time from More in your photos app. We never sell it or share it with hosts or photographers, and we only use it to find you in photos from hosts you follow.
Event photos
Faces are searchable only inside their event, and that face data is deleted when face search ends. Location data is removed from every photo.
Public posts of you
If you saved your face, you’re told whenever a photo of you is posted publicly. A setting you choose once decides whether your face shows or is blurred: show me, show me for creators I follow, or blur me everywhere. You can blur yourself in any photo, any time, and a photo of only you can be taken down. Children’s faces stay blurred unless a parent allows them. Public events say so up front; there you can ask the host to remove a photo.
Children
Under-16s can only search with a parent or guardian. A parent can add a child under Family: the child's face is then kept only to find their photos for that parent, the parent chooses once how the child appears in public photos (shown, only for creators the parent follows, or blurred; blurred until they choose), a child's face is blurred on other platforms unless the parent allows it, and if two guardians disagree the stricter choice applies. A photo of only the child can be taken down by the parent. The face data is removed when they turn 16. Hosts can turn on child-safe mode: then, in anything posted publicly, every face of someone who has not agreed is blurred.
Payments
Paystack processes payments; we never see your card or wallet PIN. We keep a record of what you bought (amount, email, time) to unlock it and for tax and refunds.
Who is responsible
The host of an event decides to collect its photos (the controller). Ferchr processes them on the host's behalf and under these rules. Your saved face and your Ferchr account are ours to protect directly.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it, and object to its use, by writing to privacy@ferchr.com. We answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Ghana, the Data Protection Commission).
What we never do
Sell face data, search the internet for your face, or let anyone look you up across events.
Removing a photo
Ask the host, report it from the photo, or email privacy@ferchr.com.
Kept: selfie vectors 30 minutes; event face data until face search ends (7 to 90 days, or while a gallery is open); saved faces until you delete them or 2 years without use (faces saved before October 2026 without a confirmed email or phone are removed after 30 days); photos until the host deletes them. Face search is not offered in some regions yet. See also our Terms. Last updated 28 October 2026.
